My New Invention - Easy DIY CNC Project
Hey everyone welcome back! Today I'm going to be showing you how I designed and built my very own grocery bag carrying handle. The concept is nothing new, but the design is certainly out of the box. If you want to follow along, it's the perfect project for entry-level woodworking with a CNC or basic tools, depending on how much detail you'd like to add into the design. The design itself was done in Adobe Illustrator but you can use any vector-based program you're comfortable with. If you're using a CNC, Vetric V Carve is a great product to use because it also writes the code necessary for the CNC machine to read. I used the Stepcraft D840 CNC machine to do the carving but again, hand-cutting the shape is doable with a scroll saw, jigsaw, or even handsaws! The 1/2" plywood I used ended up not being a great option for this build but I made it work. When I do this again, I would prefer to use half-inch wood boards, preferably maple, or a nice birch plywood. It also makes for a perfect rainy-day weekend project because it only takes a few hours to complete. It makes for a perfect birthday or Christmas gift as well. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or need assistance making your own! Looking forward to hearing your feedback.

very nice work hope you have a lot of fun with the machine
@@stepcraftgermany thank you ❤️ it’s been an absolute blessing!
Keep it up!!
Thanks for watching, will do!
I have carabiner clips that do the same thing that have a rubber grip on them, but being in New York they banned all plastic bags a couple years back so now they just sit on the counter and do nothing.
That's wild, I forgot NY did that. Thanks for watching tho, hopefully you can find a new use for the carabiners.
Nice design but the Harbor Freight stand has a flaw. The bottom flat that connects to the caster is weak and bent inward after a week of use. I had to reinforce it with a 'shelf' of plywood to keep the bottom of the stand from bending. I liked the design otherwise.
@@markwilson4647 sorry to hear that! I really appreciate you stopping by and watching though. How did the rest of the build turn out?
just hang on! It'll work out! 👍💪👊
Glad to see you back making videos, thanks. Great job
@@garrettmatson5095 thank you for sticking and around and showing support! It means the world to me. Cheers.
thanks for another good video, keep it up!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Где ты был столько времени?
Thank you for asking. Life was hectic for a long time while I remodeled my house but I'm back to making videos again!
That's a cool idea. Our koozies are stuffed in a beer mug and are a mess, time to make one of these.
@@UbelKnubel let me know how it turns out! Thanks for stopping by ❤️
I've had a lot of beers in my days, but never played dressup with any of them. Today I learnt what a beer koozie is.
Nice. Good way to keep um colder for longer. Works on cans and bottles. Makes great gifts too.
Keep the videos flowing
Will do! Thanks for being here
Sign came out great. I love the textured background and the standoffs are a cool idea.
Thanks Craig! Cheers 🍻
Looks good! I’m trying to convince my wife to let me get one 🤞
100% worth it. So many things you guys can make together!
Tell her something with christmas decoration 😎 you'll buy one🤣
I’m so glad to see you back! I really hope you keep making videos.
Thank you ❤️ will actually have a new one out in a couple of days!
Very nice job looking very good!!!👌👍💯
Good job. I really enjoy your videos and narration style. I hope you can get your views up with your other projects so you don’t stop posting!
Glad to have you posting videos again. Really enjoy your approach to remodeling
Thanks John, appreciate you being here
New video let's go! It's been so long I figured you gave up on uploading new videos 😂
I’m like a cockroach man I always find a way back 😂 thanks for stopping by
You are amazing!!
Thank you ❤️
The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. What an amazing job you’ve done. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time. It’s so awesome to see you renovate. ❤
Thank you! That means a lot ❤️
Thank you for all your videos, been enjoying watching the remodel videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, glad you're here!
So happy to see you back and to hear that you are going to make more woodworking videos! I enjoyed the home remodeling videos, but your original "maker" videos are what brought me to your channel. I commented on your miter saw station video several years ago to say that I followed your plans to build mine. I still have it and use it all the time. So as someone who has been watching for several years, I'm still rooting for you. I hope you can bring your channel back.
Thank you, that means a lot… Your support means the world! Can’t believe it’s already been that long.
Hey Brett, thank you for the video. I am not sure what videos you did before the home remodeling but I really like your home remodeling ones, that is how I found you. I totally understand needing to change things. I watched the last video and didn't get in on the giveaway because I don't like drywalling and didn't want to take that stuff away from someone else who really wanted it. Either way, thank you for the videos and I can't wait to see the next one.
Thanks Alex, that means a lot! Thank you for being here
Welcome back man
Yeah, Brett's back!
I'm getting there, thanks for sticking around to see it happen!

Great video Brett. You deserve more views
Thank you, that means a lot.
Great video mate!
Nice simple design - looks great too. Those extensions are nice but don’t lend themselves to use of a stop block for repeated cuts
i got a big fire tv monitor I wanna build into a arcade machine.
Sounds fun, let me know how it turns out!
Awesome! Thanks, this helped so much. I’m trying to figure out how to cover a large pipe in our upstairs bathroom that runs from the floor to ceiling but couldn’t quite decide how to do it without any studs to attach to, this helps a lot! And I love the little access door you made…brilliant work in my opinion! 🙌🏼
My pleasure! Glad I could help ❤️
I can't like this tool more than enough! 🤟
Great video , love the extension arms, I will be building this ,thanks
is top panel 9mm thickness?
It can be if that is what you’re using. Mine is .25” which I believe is just over 6mm
Soooo, we not gonna talk about the WTF was that moving thru the crawlspace?!?!? No?!?! Nothing?!?! 😂😂😂
Actually, I’ve read that taking a mouse more than 100 yards from where you found it is almost a certain death sentence since it’s in unknown territory
Was still kinda expecting a card for a part 4 to pop up by the end.
I caught 10 in my house with Fritos and peanut butter and this exact same set up ..just green.
Super cool, but I think it would be even better if there was a bulb in the bottle so that it lit up all those glass pieces. Super cool though! Thanks for sharing!
That would be really cool to see! I might try that in the future. Thanks for watching ❤️
CAT!
